Seminar Description

EXA and Jung Continuing Education Case Consultation Course

The arts, the body, archetypes and a rich group process will guide the case consultation experience as together we explore the interconnections between C.G. Jung’s Analytical Psychology and Expressive Arts Therapy in this eight session seminar. Both are image/symbol based psychotherapy approaches to understanding the psyche.

Through case consultation, arts based experiential process and didactic presentation, participants will learn how to use expressive arts therapy processes and explore the images and symbols through a Jungian lens. Each group session will be a penetrating investigation of analytic psychology, expressive arts therapy and the internal lives of the therapist and her/his clients.

Early registration encouraged as space is limited for these small, intimate groups. An introductory interview is the initial step in registering.

"The group experience was wonderful. . . [Kate] has created an incredible and safe temenos for the work she does. Anything creative you would like to do, you can do in her office . . . I was immersed in the Marriage of Expressive Arts and Jungian Theory . . . in the case presentations, we used the arts to give aesthetic response prior to using our language. It was a rich process . . . Kate also has a flair for ritual . . . each new cycle, we began and ended with an arts process . . . to mark where we were in our development as a therapist both emotionally and clinically."
